About Tidal Waves
Tidal Waves is a recreational summer swim team for all youth up to the age of 17.
This is a swim team, not a swim class. Your swimmer will learn and improve throughout the season but should be comfortable in the water and able to swim a recognizable stroke and lap in order to join.
We are based at the Bellevue Memorial Park Pool and swim outdoors Mon-Thurs evenings.
Tidal Waves is part of the North Hills Summer Swim League.
Season Overview
Our season is only 8 weeks and runs from Mid-May to Mid-July.
Practices and Regular Season Meets
We begin the season with indoor practice at Northgate High School starting 5/13/2023. Indoor practice times are as follows:
- Mondays and Wednesdays: Age 10 and under 4:30-5:30 PM; 11 and up 3:30-4:30 PM
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: Age 10 and under 5:30-6:30 PM; 11 and up 4:30-5:30 PM
After Memorial Day when Bellevue Pool opens up, we switch to outdoor practices. Outdoor practice times are as follows:
- Age 10 and under 7:15-8 PM
- Age 11 and up 8-9 PM
Meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting in mid-June. There are 7 meets—4 home and 3 away, all close by in the North Hills area.
Championship Meets
The season concludes with 2 Championship Meets in mid-July. To be considered to swim at Champs, swimmers must swim in at least 4 meets during the regular season.
